LOS ANGELES, CA — The fall hiring window is open across LA County, and this year it is spread out across the map. A free community fair downtown at Trade Tech, a South Bay fair with a published employer list and three October fairs from Sherman Oaks to Lancaster have already run. Still ahead: a free parking-lot fair at Stonewood Center in Downey, a regional fair in Irwindale, a holiday hiring spree in Palmdale and an interview-format fair at the Hilton by LAX. Different rooms, different crowds, different rules about what you wear.

Nine confirmed hiring events between September 9 and November 19; five have already taken place. Here they are in order, with what each one is actually for.

CRCD Level Up Job Fair — Wednesday, September 9

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | LA Trade Tech Culinary Arts Building, Room 106A, 400 W. Washington Blvd.

The Coalition for Responsible Community Development runs this one out of the Vernon-Central/LATTC WorkSource Center, and it is the most accessible event on the list. Open to all experience levels, no professional dress requirement, employers doing interviews on the spot. CRCD lists the recruiting sectors as transportation, education, security, warehouse, event staffing and hospitality — which is to say, jobs you can start next month rather than next quarter. Aimed at South LA and the surrounding neighborhoods, but nobody is checking your ZIP code at the door. Registration is free through CRCD's event page.

Step Into Success Job Fair — Thursday, September 24

10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. | Hawthorne Memorial Center, 3901 W. El Segundo Blvd., Hawthorne

This event has passed.

Hosted by the LA County Office of Education's GAIN Division under its Hiring Spree LA banner. The thing that separates this one from a generic fair is the screening: Hiring Spree LA vets exhibitors for active openings before they get a table, and it publishes the employer list in advance, so you can walk in knowing who you actually want to talk to. Staff also do on-site resume printing, and interview clothing has been available at past events through Clothes the Deal. Free, with registration through the organizer's form.

Worth noting for South Bay job seekers: this is the closest thing on the list to a neighborhood fair, sitting a few minutes off the 405 near El Segundo and Inglewood.

Los Angeles Career Fair — Thursday, September 24

11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. | Hilton Los Angeles Airport, 5711 W. Century Blvd.

Same day as Hawthorne, opposite end of the spectrum. This is Diversity Career Group's 27th annual Los Angeles Sales & Professional Career Fair, and the format is sit-down interviews rather than table-browsing. Roles skew professional: sales, inside and outside sales, account management, customer service, healthcare, project management, logistics, IT and management trainee tracks, plus entry-level and recent-graduate openings.

Read the requirements before you go. The organizer asks for professional dress and at least 12 printed copies of your resume. That is not a suggestion in a two-hour interview-format room. Registration is free through the organizer's page, and walk-up registration is available at the door.

San Fernando Valley Career Fair — Thursday, October 15

11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. | Courtyard by Marriott Sherman Oaks, 15433 Ventura Blvd., Sherman Oaks, CA 91403

The 27th annual Valley edition of the same Diversity Career Group series, with the same interview format and the same professional-dress and 12-resume expectations. Employers recruit for Woodland Hills, Burbank, Sherman Oaks and Van Nuys openings.

The venue question is settled: the organizer's event page now lists the Courtyard by Marriott on Ventura Blvd. in Sherman Oaks, not the Woodland Hills Hilton. Register through the organizer's candidate page and bring your printed ticket, or register at the door.

AVC Career Fair, Lancaster — Thursday, October 15

10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. | AVC Cafeteria, Antelope Valley College, 3041 West Ave. K, Lancaster

Same day as the Valley fair, one valley farther north. Antelope Valley College opens its fair to students, alumni and community members, all majors and experience levels, and splits it into two sessions: technical, trades and public safety in the morning, then business, healthcare, education and community work in the afternoon. The employers change at lunch, so pick your session. In a valley where aerospace work at Plant 42 and Edwards sits next to hospital, school and county jobs, it is a good room to ask what entry jobs actually require. Job Fest 2026, Downey — Thursday, October 22

Hiring Spree LA heads to the Gateway Cities. The same LA County Office of Education GAIN Division team behind the Hawthorne and Palmdale fairs sets up in the Stonewood Center parking lot, with employers screened for active openings, resume help on site and no cost to job seekers. No employer list has been posted yet, but Downey's hospitals, the warehouse corridors along the 5, 105 and 605, and a regional mall staffing up for the holidays tell you what kind of jobs to expect. Annual Regional Job & Career Fair, Irwindale — Friday, October 23

11:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. | SCE Energy Education Center, 6090 N. Irwindale Ave., Irwindale, CA 91702

The San Gabriel Valley's turn, the day after Downey. The Irwindale Chamber of Commerce and the City of Irwindale host this free fair, open to the public, and the chamber's exhibitor list runs from Costco and Southern California Edison to Vulcan Materials, Martin Marietta and United Rock Products, plus the LA County Sheriff's Department, LA County Probation, LA Port Police, the U.S. Navy and Covina-Valley Unified. Some tables are training programs and resource agencies rather than employers, so ask each one what it is filling now. Sign up through the chamber's free form and bring printed resumes; the chamber says to dress to impress. Holiday Hiring Spree, Palmdale — Thursday, October 29

The fourth annual holiday edition of Hiring Spree LA, from the same LA County Office of Education GAIN Division team that ran the Hawthorne fair in September. Employers are screened for active openings before they get a table, resume help happens on the spot, and the event is free for job seekers. Los Angeles Career Fair — Thursday, November 19

The last one on the fall calendar, and a repeat of the September 24 event at the same LAX-adjacent hotel: same organizer, same interview-style format, same professional and entry-level mix across sales, customer service, technology and business roles. 🔎 How to Pick the Right Ones

Nobody needs all of them. Sort yourself:

  • You need holiday income: October 22 in Downey or October 29 in Palmdale. Screened employers who are actively hiring, free, with resume help on site.
  • You live in Downey, Norwalk, Bellflower or anywhere in the Gateway Cities: October 22 at Stonewood Center.
  • You live in the San Gabriel Valley, or want public safety, utility or quarry work: October 23 in Irwindale, with three law enforcement agencies, the Navy and Southern California Edison on the exhibitor list.
  • You live in Lancaster, Palmdale or anywhere north of the pass: October 29 in Palmdale.
  • You are in sales, account management or customer service: November 19 at the Hilton LAX. The interview format rewards people who came prepared to be interviewed.
  • You are early-career or just graduated: the November 19 Hilton date explicitly recruits entry-level and recent grads, which most professional fairs quietly do not.

What to Bring to Any of Them

  • Printed resumes — a dozen for the Hilton fairs, and more than you think you need everywhere else
  • Photo ID
  • Any license, certification or clearance number you hold, written down
  • A 30-second self-introduction you have said out loud at least once
  • Your real availability, stated plainly, including nights and weekends if you can work them
  • A notebook, so you can follow up within 48 hours instead of guessing at names

💵 One Thing to Know About Pay Before You Negotiate

LA is a patchwork, and the address where the work is performed sets the legal floor — not where you live, and not where the company is headquartered.

Inside the City of Los Angeles, the minimum wage rose to $18.42 an hour on July 1, 2026, per the city's Office of Wage Standards. In the unincorporated areas of LA County, the county's own ordinance puts the floor at $18.47 as of the same date. California's statewide minimum is $16.90. Independent cities in the county set their own status, so a job in Hawthorne is not automatically governed by the LA City rate — ask the employer which jurisdiction the worksite sits in.

One more, because one of the fairs still ahead is held at an airport hotel: under the city's Citywide Hotel Worker Minimum Wage Ordinance, large hotels in Los Angeles — 60 or more rooms, or 50 or more inside the Airport Hospitality Enhancement Zone around LAX — owe covered hotel workers a $25.00 cash wage plus a $4.25 hourly health benefit payment as of July 1, 2026. If you are job hunting in hospitality near Century Blvd., that is the number to know. Check the current rates at the city's Office of Wage Standards.

None of these are going rates. In warehouse, logistics and food service across this metro, competition routinely pushes real starting pay above the legal floor. Treat the minimum as the floor it is.

Where to Aim This Fall

Fairs are one channel. The employers recruiting at them are posting the same roles online the same week, and the fall stretch is when LA does its heaviest hiring: port and warehouse operations build peak-season crews, hospitality staffs up for the visitor season, school districts backfill, and retailers finish their holiday rosters before Halloween.

Are these Los Angeles job fairs free?

The ones still ahead are: Job Fest 2026 in Downey, the Irwindale fair, the Holiday Hiring Spree in Palmdale and the Diversity Career Group fair at the Hilton LAX are all free for job seekers.

Do I need to register in advance?

It helps everywhere. The Diversity Career Group fair accepts registration at the door. Job Fest 2026 and the Holiday Hiring Spree take free sign-ups through Hiring Spree LA, and the Irwindale fair takes sign-ups through the Irwindale Chamber of Commerce's free form.

What should I wear?

The Diversity Career Group fair at the Hilton LAX requires professional dress — the organizer says so explicitly, and the format is sit-down interviews. The Irwindale chamber says to dress to impress. The Downey and Palmdale fairs do not list a dress code; clean and presentable is a safe bet. When in doubt, overdress.

Which fair is best if I have no recent work history?

The Hiring Spree LA fairs: October 22 in Downey or October 29 in Palmdale. Employers are screened for active openings and resume help is on site. The September 9 Trade Tech fair, built for exactly this reader, has passed; we add new WorkSource events to this guide as they are confirmed.

Are any of these events virtual?

No. All nine are in person. Be skeptical of listings that advertise a "Los Angeles" fair with a one-hour runtime and no venue address — those are usually national virtual events tagged to a city.

Will more events be added this fall?

Very likely. LA County's workforce agencies and WorkSource centers post hiring events with as little as a week or two of notice, and employers announce walk-in events on short notice. We update this guide as new dates are confirmed.
