🏆 Who's Behind It and Why It's Different

Hiring Spree LA is the job fair program of the LA County Office of Education's GAIN Division, the team that ran the Step Into Success fair in Hawthorne last month and runs the Holiday Hiring Spree in Palmdale on October 29. Exhibitors are screened for real, open positions before they get a table.

The program advertises resume help on the spot, and interview clothing on site when supplies allow. Stonewood Center lists the event on its own events calendar as a partnership with LACOE, held in the mall parking lot.

What is not public yet: the employer list. None had been posted as of this writing, and no headcount has been announced. Check the organizer's page the week of the event.

💼 What Kind of Jobs to Expect

Without a list, we won't guess at names, but we know the local market. Downey is a health care town, with the Kaiser Permanente Downey Medical Center, PIH Health Downey Hospital and Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center all inside city limits. The Gateway Cities around it are thick with warehouse, trucking and distribution work along the 5, the 105 and the 605. And a regional mall in mid-October is surrounded by retailers that need holiday help before Black Friday.

If you hold a forklift card, a CNA certificate, a guard card or a clean driving record, write the numbers down and bring them.

📋 How to Show Up Ready

  • Register first. It's free, and the form is linked from the Hiring Spree LA page.
  • Print more resumes than you think you need. Ten is a sensible floor.
  • Dress for an interview and bring photo ID plus your real availability, nights and weekends included.
  • Plan for an outdoor event. It's in the parking lot, so bring water and wear shoes you can stand in for a while.

Different event, different day: if you're north of the San Gabriels, the same organizer's Holiday Hiring Spree runs October 29 in Palmdale. Details are in our Antelope Valley job fairs guide, and every other fall date is in the Fall 2026 Los Angeles job fairs guide.
